Flake house
Breckenridge, Colorado
Located on the prestigious North Gold Flake Terrace, this high-alpine retreat is a bold reinterpretation of mountain modern. The design leans into clean geometry and contrast—combining light and dark Nakamoto charred siding, modern metalwork, and locally quarried stone to deliver both presence and warmth. With a concealed garage and direct approach, the structure feels intentional and grounded, rising naturally with the slope of the site.
Inside, living spaces unfold toward the view, anchored by large-format windows and sunny southern exposure. Primary suites open onto private decks while public areas invite indoor-outdoor flow and year-round hosting. This is a home made for both retreat and celebration, quietly rooted in its terrain and unmistakably forward in form.
